Background

The IIJA, Public Law 117-58, authorized surface transportation programs for fiscal years 2022 through 2026, as FTA's apportionments page states. As of November 3, 2026 that page lists FY2026 full-year apportionments and an FY2026 and FY2027 formula pre-award authority document, with no FY2027 extension-period transit apportionment table. Division C also extends the Highway Trust Fund, Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund and Leaking Underground Storage Tank Trust Fund expenditure authority (section 3201), and the Appalachian Regional Commission (section 3102).
