About & Methodology
Being right is the whole point.
The General Plan is an intelligence publication on how America gets built and funded. Our only product is accuracy: we turn fragmented, public government data into structured, original intelligence — and we cite every hard fact to its source.
What we do
We monitor primary U.S. government sources — starting with the Federal Register, and expanding to Grants.gov, USASpending, SAM.gov, state budgets, and city and county General Plans. We extract the structured facts (programs, agencies, deadlines, dollar amounts, eligibility) and synthesize them into briefings nobody else has compiled in one place.
What we do not do
We do not rewrite or "spin" other publications' articles. Synthesis of structured public data is original work and builds authority; rewording third-party reporting is the fastest way to lose it. Every briefing is built from source records, not from someone else's story.
How a briefing is made
A five-stage editorial pipeline produces every piece:
- Monitor pulls new records from each source and extracts structured entities, copying hard facts verbatim from the source — never inferring them.
- Analyst drafts a briefing strictly from those structured facts, recording a claim for every hard fact it states.
- Verifier grounds every hard fact — deadline, dollar amount, eligibility, agency, program — back to its source record. Anything that cannot be verified is held, never published.
- Optimizer handles titling, structure, and the citations readers see.
- Distributor publishes only what has passed verification.
Our citation policy
Every published briefing carries a Sources section. Each hard fact is linked to the primary source record it came from, so you can verify it yourself. If a fact cannot be grounded in a source, it does not appear.
Human oversight & corrections
The pipeline is AI-operated, but publishing runs behind a human-approval gate: an editor reviews verified briefings before they go live. If we get something wrong, we want to know — corrections are made promptly and transparently. Contact: [email protected].
