Honegger Family Group Seeks Federal Reserve Approval to Retain Control of Morton Community Bank

A group of Honegger family trusts and individuals, acting in concert, has filed notice with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago to retain voting shares of Hometown Community Bancorp, Inc. and its subsidiary, Morton Community Bank.

A group of Honegger family members, trusts, and an employee stock ownership plan have applied under the Change in Bank Control Act (12 U.S.C. 1817(j)) and Section 225.41 of the Board's Regulation Y (12 CFR 225.41) to retain voting shares of Hometown Community Bancorp, Inc., and thereby retain voting shares of Morton Community Bank, both of Morton, Illinois. The application was filed with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and published in the Federal Register on June 23, 2026.

The notificant group acting in concert includes: the Honegger 2012 Irrevocable Trust Agreement F/B/O Andrew A. Honegger, with Andrew Honegger as trustee; the Honegger 2025 Irrevocable Trust Agreement F/B/O Andrew A. Honegger, with Andrew A. Honegger as trustee; Andrew Honegger, Cynthia Honegger, Sarah Honegger, Katherine Honegger, and Jean Ann Honegger, all of Morton, Illinois; the Honegger 2012 Irrevocable Trust Agreement F/B/O Molly M. Honegger, with Molly M. Honegger as trustee, of Oakland, California; the Honegger 2025 Irrevocable Trust Agreement F/B/O Molly M. Honegger, with Molly M. Honegger individually and as trustee; Stephen Hesseltine, Sienna Hesseltine, and Sophia Hesseltine, all of Oakland, California; and the Hometown Community Bancorp, Inc., Employee Stock Ownership Plan and Trust, with Andrew A. Honegger as trustee.

The Federal Reserve will evaluate the application based on the factors set forth in paragraph 7 of the Change in Bank Control Act (12 U.S.C. 1817(j)(7)). Public portions of the application, as well as other related filings required by the Board, are available for inspection at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, located at 230 South LaSalle Street, Chicago, Illinois, and at the offices of the Board of Governors. The information may also be obtained through the Board's Freedom of Information Office.

Interested persons may submit written comments on the standards enumerated in paragraph 7 of the Act. The notice states that comments received are subject to public disclosure and will generally be made available without change, without removal of personal or business information. Commenters are advised not to include confidential information that would not be appropriate for public disclosure.
